Avoiding Merges

This picture is what you shouldn't do if trying to avoid mergers. This has merges behind President Bush and the other men. The merge is the building behind them, it draws attention and also merges the hats of the men to it. This picture has no merges on the man unlike the other picture. It has no merges because the picture is zoomed out. This is the better picture of the two.

Framing

Image
This shows framing because the clear subject of the picture is the flag and all the men are watching it go up. The subject is clearly centered with a zoomed out background for depth. This picture is also framed good with a simple grey background and the subject pops against it.

Balance

This picture shows balance because its a basic shape of the formation of the men and so is the casket, with the same amount of men on each side of it. It shows a full picture with no missing parts. It also makes your eyes go in a circle around the casket.

Lines

Image
This is a good representation of lines because it draws attention from the bottom of the ruble to the top of a building .  It even has the man going up on the ladder(leading line)

Rule of Thirds

This shows rule of third because the subject, the twin towers, are moved more to the right side of the picture. This makes the subject more interesting.

Simplicity

Image
This picture shows simplicity, even though it isn't the clearest. This is simple because their is no over- powering background, just the sky. The subject is clearly the building exploding.

The Camera

1. Joseph Nicéphore Niépce was credited for making the first permanent picture. He took it of a roof of a shed in the sunlight 2. Loius Daguerre used a silver plated copper sheet to take the first commercial photograph. 3. Ansel Adams is credited for ushering the era of landscape photography 4. You should know what shutter speed, aperture, and ISO is if you want to be a photographer. 5. Matrix metering, Spot metering, and Center-weighted metering are the three metering modes. 6. You should use center-weighted metering when there is a lot of light behind the subject.  7.  It only evaluate the light around the focus point, so you would use it when shooting something small like a bird. 8. The four camera modes are program, shutter priority, aperture priority, and manual. 9. Shutter priority, is when you manually set the shutter speed and the aperture is on auto. Aperture priority is when you set the aperture and the shutte...

First Day Photos

Image
I like this photo because it focuses on the subject, even with a great background. It makes the subject seemed spaced out. One thing that I could have done to make this picture better was make the background blurrier. But one thing that is good about this picture is how I got low to make him seem bigger.                                              This picture is good because I used the rule of thirds. This picture shows a good background with a smaller subject. One thing I could have done better would be to zoom out a tad to show scale, or the opposite and zoom in.
